ATIT reheated: UFO and a green-faced entity seen at Nike Missile Base in Redmond, Washington

[From All This Is That, March 2005]

By Jack Brummet, Alien Lore Ed.

From a MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) Report. This UFO and alien sighting occurred a couple of miles away from my office.

DATE: June 24, 1988
TIME: Sometime between 12:30 and 2:00 A.M. Pacific Daylight Time
LOCATION: Redmond, Washington
DURATION: Estimates vary, around 7 minutes for sighting of UFO; about 45 minutes total duration including sighting of face, possibly longer

SOURCE OF SIGHTING: UFO Information Service (Goudie)

INVESTIGATORS:
Donald A. Johnson, Ph.D., MUFON
Don Olson, MUFON
Rita Andreeva, MUFON

Four 11-year-old girls who had attended a private Christian elementary school together were having a slumber party reunion at the home of one of the girls on Education Hill in Redmond, Washington. At a few minutes after either 12:30 AM or 1:30 AM they were looking out the window to see if they could find the girl's dog. They were downstairs in the TV room, while the parents and brother and sister of the host were asleep upstairs. They witnessed a craft-like UFO, described as either a domed-disc or two plates put together edge-to- edge, hovering in the night sky. It had white and red lights and possibly faint green lights around the rim of the object. Of the two girls interviewed, both thought right away that it was a UFO (i.e. "spacecraft"), and not an aircraft because it was similar to a picture they had once seen in a book.

The UFO was hovering at about 30 degrees above the horizon when first sighted. It was described as smaller than a house in size, possibly 25 feet in diameter. The UFO moved to the right horizontally about 10 degrees, reversed direction abruptly and moved back in a straight line to the left 10 degrees, moved back to the right 5 degrees to a center position, and then moved really fast straight down. It moved down behind some tall evergreen trees and the girls thought that it probably came down in a clearing in Nike Park, about 3-4 blocks from the girl's home where they were staying. The UFO was reported to be visible through the window of the TV room for a total of between 2 and 7 minutes.

Sometime later, within 15 minutes to a half an hour, two of the girls witnessed a frightening face. The accounts of how the face appeared to them varies. In one account the girls thought they saw something like a shadow or a figure at the top of the stairs leading up to the kitchen. The became scared and hid in their sleeping bags; they zipped them over their heads and lay next to each other. They conversed through the bags and agreed to look at the same time, so that it would not be too scary. As they pulled the bags down from over their heads they saw a dark, mossy green face only about arm's length away. Really frightened, one of the girls pulled the sleeping bag over her head, and when she looked out again in a few minutes, the being was gone. The other girl's account said they were lying on their backs trying to get to sleep and staring up at the ceiling when all of a sudden they both saw this green face. She watched it for about 45 seconds, "and then it just, went away". Asked if it just vanished like it was a slide from a projector or something, she said, no, it wasn't like that. It was just like a real face, but it was green in color and it was looking at them. The second girl appears to be unclear about how the face appeared because she also reports she covered her head with the sleeping bag at one point but can't remember when.

The face was described as greenish in hue, with red, glowing eyes. Interviewed separately, both of the girls said there was something like a dent in one of the cheeks. One girl said it looked
like the "face on Mars" photograph she saw in the newspaper about a week later, while the other girl said it had pointy ears and bushy eyebrows. When asked a direct question later about the pointed ears, the second girl said she didn't remember any ears. If the face had indeed been attached to a body, one girl figures that the being must have been about 3 1/2 to 4 feet tall.

About 10 to 15 minutes later the second girl, who lived there, saw a clump of rainbow colored lights slowly revolving in her kitchen and flashing light all over the ceiling and refrigerator. The first girl made a vague reference to lights in the kitchen but apparently did not see the rainbow-colored clump of lights hovering in the kitchen (the kitchen is partially visible from the TV room, up half a flight of stairs).

The girls became noisy discussing what they had seen woke the mother. The mother came down and ordered them to go to sleep. Apparently nothing further happened that night.

Of the other two girls, they are certain that one saw what they saw but would not consent to be interviewed by UFO investigators. They are unsure what the fourth girl saw. The second girl, the one at whose home the events occurred, reported that she had had a precognitive experience during that previous day, recalling during a croquet match that she had dreamed those exact events some weeks before. She also reports that since the UFO incident she is no longer subject to nose bleeds, which she reports have occurred to her chronically throughout her life and also occur with her father. She also said that a soccer injury to her knee no longer gave her any pain after the encounter, and she attributes the healing to the event.

Alien Lore No. 260 — Jackie Gleason interviewed about UFO's and higher life forms

By Jack Brummet, Alien Lore and UFO ed.

This is an interview between Jackie Gleason and a Jack (last name unknown), who was guess hosting Long John Neville's radio program November 16, 1958, on New York City's WOR.
Jackie Gleason was fascinated with aliens and UFOs.  Some people, including Jackie's wife, have claimed that he and President Richard Nixon once viewed the bodies of aliens from a UFO crash at a secret Air Force facility) (See our article Alien Lore No. 225 - Jackie Gleason's tale of President Dick Nixon and "The men from Mars"

Gleason: I got this letter unsolicited and it came from a group (8) of atomic scientists and physicists.
Jack: Could you name the scientist?
Gleason: I can't and let me tell you why I can't. They are still in government employ.
Jack: What does that mean?
Gleason: Well that means they're under security provisions
Jack: What do you mean security provisions if there's a flying saucer there's nothing there reviewing?
Gleason: We're supposed to believe the official dispensation from the Air Force. We're supposed to believe that he's flying saucers are a matter of great national concern then I love the same outfit tells us they don't exist. At the same time they tell us that they do come out of the security provisions and they have several regulations that forbid that forbid government and military from even talking about the.
Jack: But these aren't government officials? You can talk about it?
Gleason: Yes I can talk about it. I can't reveal the identity of these fellows . You know what I did with Willie Ley (rocket scientist) one night on a show called “The author meets the critic”. This was several years ago . Really with giving Donald Keyhoe and myself a hard time and I asked him if I could show him a letter and show him who signed it and where it came from and whether he would let me read one sentence which is all I was permitted to read publicly. I showed him the letterhead and his jaw dropped open. I showed him the signature and it dropped open a little more. And the sentence said quote after 6 years of studying the material in connection with these so called flying saucers we are of the unanimous opinion that these are interplanetary devices conceived and operated by intelligent beings of a very high order."
Jack: Now was that letter signed by very important men in the government?
Gleason: Yes It was signed by an important physicist.
Jack: Are these men that would have been in contact with the president?
Gleason: No no I wouldn't think so.
Jack: So then they weren't big personages?
Gleason: No they weren't top flight men but they were men who evidently had a lot of ability.
Jack: Were they connected with the government?
Gleason: Well they were connected with an atomic enterprise
Jack: But not with the government?
Gleason: Well I don't know but they were analyzing stuff for the government. I wouldn't say that they were actually career man or anything like that, no, but they were hired to do a job.
Jack: Why should then that be a surprise if some kind of scientists or men attached to the atomic research , a private research organization - why should his drop jaw drop open when they stay there are flying saucers?
Gleason: I think he was surprised at first when he recognized the scientist’s name and his standing.
Jack: That he was on the government team?
Gleason: Well he may have been . I don't know exactly what his relationship would have been except that I would be glad to show you the letter sometime. You could figure it out from there.

Alien Lore #257 - Presidents, Politicians, and UFO Disclosure

By Jack Brummet, Alien Lore Ed.

Former Pres. Bill Clinton in Hong Kong a few years ago, discussed UFOs, Roswell and Area 51: "The Roswell thing, I think, really was an illusion - I don't think it happened. I did attempt to find out if there were any secret government documents that reveal things, and if there were, they were concealed from me, too. I wouldn't be the first president that underlings have lied to or that career bureaucrats have waited out. But there may be some career person, sitting around somewhere, hiding these dark secrets, even from elected presidents. But, if so, they successfully eluded me, and I'm almost embarrassed to tell you I did try to find out."

California Gov. Ronald Reagan with three other people in a small Cessna plane saw an object that was a steady light which elongated and went from cruising speed to a rapid acceleration. He told the Wall Street Journal, "We followed it for several minutes. It was a bright white light, and all of a sudden to our utter amazement, it went straight up into the heavens."

In 1987, President Ronald Reagan told the United Nations General Assembly: "In our obsession with antagonisms of the moment, we often forget how much unites all the members of humanity. Perhaps we need some outside, universal threat to make us recognize this common bond. I occasionally think how quickly our differences worldwide would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world."

Steve Allen took one of Ronald Reagan's UFO sightings public on his WNEW-AM radio show in New York. Allen related a story that "a well-known personality in the entertainment industry" had confided to him years ago.  For years, the story had made the rounds in the press-politico rumor mill and everyone knew Allen was talking about Governor Ronald and Nancy Reagan. The Reagans were expected at a dinner party with Hollywood friends. The guests had arrived except for the Reagans. Ron and Nancy showed up thirty minutes late and were very upset because, they said, they had seen a UFO coming down the coast.

The future President related the story to Norman C. Millar, who was Washington Bureau chief for the Wall Street Journal: "I was in a plane last week when I looked out the window and saw this white light. It was zigzagging around."

"I went up to the pilot and said, Have you seen anything like that before? He was shocked and said, Nope. And I said to him: Let's follow it! We followed it for several minutes. It was a bright white light."

"We followed it to Bakersfield, and all of a sudden to our utter amazement, it went straight up into the heavens."

"When we got off the plane,
I told Nancy all about it." Reagan , added that he had told Nancy about the UFO he had seen, and that they had done personal research on UFOs. This research had uncovered the facts that there were references to UFOs in Egyptian hieroglyphics.

The reporter suddenly realized that Reagan actually believed in UFOs. "Are you telling me that you saw a UFO?"

Suddenly, according to Millar, Reagan realized that he was talking to the press. "This look crossed his face," recalled Millar, "and he said let's just say that I'm an agnostic."

President James Earl Carter saw a UFO on, as he said, "a very sober occasion." Howell Raines wrote about the sighting in The Atlanta Constitution, in 1973:

"Carter saw a blue, disc-shaped object during a campaign stop in Leary, a South Georgia town in the same general area where numerous UFOs have been reported recently."

"The object came into view as Carter and several members of the Leary Lions Club stood outside the hall where Carter was to speak. All the members of the group observed the object for about five to ten minutes, Carter said. He immediately went to a tape recorder and dictated a description of what he remembers as "a very remarkable sight."

"It was about 30 degrees above the horizon and looked about as large as the moon. It got smaller and changed to a reddish color and then got larger again."

"Carter speculated that the UFO "was probably an electronic occurrence of some sort," rather than a visitation from outer space. At any rate, the governor said, "it was obviously there, and obviously unidentified."

During his 1976 campaign Carter went out of his way to say "If I become President, I'll make every piece of information this country has about UFO sightings available to the public and scientists. I am convinced that UFOs exist because I have seen one."

President John F. Kennedy sent a memo to the head of the CIA, seeking documents about UFOs, 10 days before he was assassinated. In a letter dated Nov. 12, 1963, JFK wanted a review of all UFO intelligence files that might affect national security. On the same day, Kennedy sent a separate memo to NASA, indicating he wanted to cooperate with the then-Soviet Union on outer space activities.  This memo was an important plot point in the great TV series DARK SKIES.

Arizona Sen. Barry Goldwater revealed several times that he had attempted to find out what was in the building at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, where UFO information was allegedly stored. His request was denied because it was classified above Top Secret. In a 1988 interview with Larry King, Goldwater said he believed secret government UFO investigations were going on.

In 2004, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson/2008 presidential candidate, called on the U.S. government to declassify all Roswell UFO documents. Richardson wrote: "The mystery surrounding this crash has never been adequately explained. Clearly, it would help everyone if the U.S. government disclosed everything it knows. The American people can handle the truth -- no matter how bizarre or mundane."

Former Clinton White House Chief of Staff John Podesta in 2007 told a National Press Club press conference about the need for UFO disclosure: "I think it's time to open the books on questions that have remained in the dark and the question of government investigations of UFOs. It's time to find out what the truth really is that's out there. We ought to do it because the American people, quite frankly, can handle the truth."

In 2010, NH State Representative Henry W. McElroy recorded a video in which he claims to have seen a briefing document from the 1950s that described how benevolent aliens were present in the U.S. and that a meeting could be arranged between them and former President Eisenhower.

According to Clark C. McClelland, once with the U.S. Space Shuttle Fleet, a UFO landed in front of former U.S. President Eisenhower and other officials at Holloman Aair Force Base. Holloman looms nearly as large as Roswell or Area 51 in Alien Lore.

The old Alamogordo airfield (aka Holloman) had been a training base for heavy bombers. But one day, to the surprise of almost everyone, President Dwight D. Eisenhower landed there.

Everyone wondered "why is Ike here? What's going on?" The civilians and military were told that while the president was here, this would be a "business as usual" day.

Whatever was happening would happen was as far away as it could be from the base. Little could be seen unless one had a vantage point and binoculars. Soon, the radar officers gave instructions to shut off all radar. He had turned base operations over to his deputy base commander as long as the President was here. He felt it his duty to be with him with no distractions.

A phone rang in the tower with a report of two UFOs passing over Range Road 12. A minute later, the bogies were over Range Road 7, just a few minutes from the runway. Men in the tower swung their glasses to the north in the morning haze.

Something glinted in the sun, and then something else just below it. Now, a report came in of a third bogie five minutes behind the first two. The tower personnel who did not know what these were, were stunned. The objects had no tails, no wings, and no motors. They were just round objects heading toward the president's plane. They reported the objects, logged them and did their job which was "business as usual." The two objects stopped 300 feet over Air Force One, and then one touched about 200 feet ahead of the plane.

The other UFO hovered above the buildings over the tarmac. The disc had a good vantage point of anything that might come towards the president's plane and the UFO on the ground. Most people who saw or heard about the two craft at the base that day did not believe they were ET, but possibly new Russian or German innovations.

After the UFO landed in front of Air Force One, a man (whom people assumed was the President), came to the doorway of the plane, and approached the saucer on the ground. The man walked up the ramp, stood at the opening, shook hands with someone, and went inside.

Observers thought the President was inside the UFO about 45 minutes. When he emerged from the craft, he walked towards Air Force One. Most observers believed it was President Ike. Many of the witnesses recognized that famous bald pate and his stiff military walk.

Following hundreds of UFO sightings in Michigan in 1966, future President Ford said: "In the firm belief that the American public deserves a better explanation than that thus far given by the Air Force, I strongly recommend that there be a committee investigation of the UFO phenomena. I think we owe it to the people to establish credibility regarding UFOs and to produce the greatest possible enlightenment of the subject."

"I have taken special interest in these (UFO) accounts because many of the latest reported sightings have been made in my home state of Michigan...Because I think there may be substance to some of these reports and because I believe The American People are entitled to a more thorough explanation than has been given them by the Air force to date, I am proposing either the Science and Astronautics Committee or the Armed Services Committee of the House, schedule hearings on the subject of UFOs and invite testimony from both the executive branch of the Government and some of the persons who claim to have seen UFOs..."

"In the firm belief that the American public deserves a better explanation than that thus far given by the Air Force, I strongly recommend that there be a committee investigation of the UFO phenomena. I think we owe it to the people to establish credibility regarding UFOs and to produce the greatest possible enlightenment on this subject."

President Richard Nixon allegedly took comedian Jackie Gleason to Homestead Air Force Base in Florida in 1974 and showed him wreckage of a flying saucer as well as the remains of several extraterrestrials. The story was made public by two people: Gleason's wife, Beverly, told Esquire Magazine that her husband had related this tale to her. Gleason, who was known to have a strong interest in UFOs, reportedly told the story to author Larry Warren, who had been involved in real UFO encounters experienced by many American military personnel at the RAF Bentwaters base in the U.K. in 1980.

President Harry S. Truman, in 1950 said "I can assure you that flying saucers, given that they exist, are not constructed by any power on earth." It's not clear whether or not President Truman had ever seen a UFO. However, if you believe the Majestic documents published earlier in All This Is That (10/22/2005), you may also believe that President Truman witnessed both UFOs and alien corpses.

A British politician says the U.S. government recovered the bodies of four extraterrestrials and the wreckage of their starship in 1947. He claims to have the secret report that proves it! As you may or may not know, President Truman is not the only President to have a UFO encounter. This one seemed to have spooked The President sufficiently that he ended up establishing the notorious black-op Majestic 12.

"The United States has been involved in a massive cover-up of alien contact for better than 40 years," said the politician, who asked to remain anonymous when he gave copies of the document to reporters in the House of Lords."This is bigger than any mere Watergate," he added. "This is a cosmic Watergate - and it's time the truth was told."

The papers, signed by President Harry Truman (who saw the deceased aliens), were addressed to the most powerful figures in Britain. Then Prime Minister Clement Atlee got a copy, as did Winston Churchill, King George VI, the Queen Mother and leaders of the House of Lords.

The leaders' reactions reportedly ranged from shock and amazement to outright fear. The document itself stressed the need to keep the recovery operation a secret to avoid "a massive religious backlash and worldwide panic."It went on to describe the extraterrestrials in chilling detail.

"Four small human-like beings apparently ejected from the craft before it exploded and crashed in America's southwest," said the report. "All four were dead and decomposed due to predators and exposure to the elements before their discovery. The beings were between four and five feet tall. They wore tight-fitting silver jumpsuits. Their heads were disproportionately large, with oversized brown eyes, slanted in t he head. Their noses and mouth were mere slits. They had small holes for ears."

Congressman Dennis Kucinich entered the UFO culture during one of the 2007 Democratic presidential debates, by admitting he had seen a UFO. "It was an unidentified flying object, OK? It's like, it's unidentified. I saw something. More people in this country have seen UFOs than I think approve of George Bush's presidency," he said.

Georgia Sen. Richard B. Russell Jr., chairman of the Armed Services Committee, was on a trip to Russia, traveling on a train when he and others in his party saw a disc-shaped craft take off near the train tracks. The reports to the U.S. Air Force by Russell and his aides were classified Top Secret and remained that way until they were eventually released via the Freedom of Information Act.

Because of Dick Cheney's high White House positions in past Ford and Bush Sr. administrations, the appearance of his name on the George W. Bush Presidential ticket led many UFOlogists to believe that Cheney might represent an attempt by the government to make a disclosure on UFOs. Because if you ever want to open up, and make full disclosure, who else would you pick?

As Secretary of Defense under George H.W. Bush, however, Cheney did not release an iota of information to researchers about UFOs. Somehow, researchers believed the Vice-President would now provide some truthful answers.

Because of his former defense position, and because more attention was being placed on candidates concerning UFOs, after the Bush UFO campaign promise in Arkansas, it was incredible that Cheney ended up on a campaign swing to Roswell, New Mexico. The visit occurred October 25, just three months after George Bush made the UFO promise to Charles Huffer that Cheney would look into the UFO situation. The Roswell trip had UFOlogists going bananas.

Roswell is the site of the most famous UFO event in history. In July 1947, there was a crash that some believe involved a flying saucer and four small grey aliens. The crash had been investigated intensely by researchers beginning in the late seventies.

Only six days before Cheney arrived in Roswell, 30 cattle were found dead under mysterious circumstances on a ranch outside of town. Papers as far away as Boston, Massachusetts covered the story of the "mysterious mass death."

Since the late sixties mysterious deaths among cattle had evolved to become a common occurrence on western ranches. These mysterious occurrences had been documented by UFO researchers and the FBI, and had become known as "cattle mutilations". Many researchers claimed the cattle mutilations were extraterrestrial based, because many aspects of the incisions, and organ removals, appeared beyond human technology.

It was "very interesting that Cheney flew into Roswell," wrote UFO Roundup editor Joseph Trainor, "after the mysterious mass death of 24 cattle in that community. Was he on some kind of clandestine mission for the Pentagon?"

In his speech, Cheney did not even acknowledge the UFO background of the town. The vice-presidential hopeful spoke to the enthusiastic crowd of 2,500, but never mentioned the UFO subject once. He was like the secretive and calculating Cheney of old. And today.

No one asked about UFOs, and he was not asked for a comment about the mysterious death of the cattle that had occurred just prior to his arrival. He completed his speech, and left town.

Lab results on the cattle deaths determined that the deaths had been caused by poisoning. The vet suspected that the cattle had been poisoned by a weed that had found its way into the bails of hay causing nitrate poisoning.

Some, however, felt that the Cheney trip to Roswell might have been a signal. These people felt it was like Reagan making a speech in 1982 near hanger 84 at the Roswell Air Force Base, where tradition says the bodies of the dead aliens from the Roswell crash were held prior to being flown to Wright Field in 1982. Like Reagan, Cheney might have been giving an indirect nod that he was aware, and would if elected, deal with the UFO situation.

After their election, there was no indication that the UFO issue had been the first thing Cheney did once elected as promised by Bush in the campaign. In fact there was no indication anything had been done.

Dick Cheney was questioned on Washington D.C. Public Radio Station WAMU on April 11, 2001. Cheney spoke from the White House.

Researcher Grant Cameron: Since the statement made by George Bush last July, there is a vicious rumor circulating in the UFO community that you've been read into the UFO program. So my question to you is, in any of your government jobs, have you ever been briefed on the subject of UFOs, and if you have, when was it and what were you told?
Cheney: Well, if I had been briefed on it, I'm sure it was probably classified and I couldn't talk about it.
Rehm: Is there investigation going on within this administration, Mr. Vice President, as to UFOs?

Cheney: I have not come across the subject since I've been back in government, oh like since January 20th.

Rehm: All right.

Cheney: I've been in a lot of meetings, but I don't recall one on UFOs.

The U.S. government has claimed since December 1969 (when it shut down Project Blue Book) that nothing is classified, and who are we to doubt that government?

Pyramids in Antarctica?

By Jack Brummet, Alien Lore Ed.

Alas, the story is shaky, and shows all the hallmarks of a hoax.  If this were true, we all know the team could and would not "keep silent about the discovery."  Nonetheless, it's a good story, whether it's true or not. The following text is from a post on the In Serbia news site:

"Three ancient pyramids have been discovered in the Antarctic by a team of American and European scientists. Two of the pyramids were discovered about 16 kilometers inland, while the third one was very close to the coastline, media reported.

"An expedition to the bizarre structures should answer the intriguing question whether they are artificial or natural.

"The first reports about the pyramids appeared in western mass media last year. Few pictures were posted on some web-sites with a commentary that the strange structures could serve evidence that the ice-covered continent used to be warm enough to have had an ancient civilization living there.
"By the current moment little is still known about the pyramids, the team continues to keep silent about the discovery. The only reliable information provided by the scientists was that they were planning an expedition to the pyramids to research them more thoroughly and determine for sure whether the structures were artificial or natural. No details about the time frame of the expedition were offered.

"In case the researchers prove the pyramids are man-made structures, the discovery may bring about the biggest revision of human history ever made."

Frank Rudolph Paul's Life On Other Planets

By Jack Brummet, Alien Lore Ed.

Frank Rudolph Paul (1884 – 1963) was a science fiction pulp magazine illustrator. Paul was influential in defining cover art and interior illustrations in the science fiction pulps of the 1920s.

His work is dramatic, with gigantic machines, robots, aliens, and spaceships).  His work is characterized by its bright colors, and his "limited ability to draw human faces, especially females."  His architectural training is clearly evident buildings and space stations. . .
