A New Army
click to enlarge - This is a prototype for the new soldier. We replace our soldiers around the globe with 'Bots. . .we could have friendly ones, and ugly ones, depending on the war zone. Think of all the money we'd save in Japan, Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq, Germany, and Somalia. No more complaining about the bad G.I. chow, no more rapes and civilian atrocities, no more barracks or uniforms, no conscientious objectors or deserters. No flag draped draped coffins or uncomfortable calls to the bereaved relatives. If they get blown away, you just melt 'em down and crank out another one. If an entire batallion is destroyed, there's more work for the robot factory in Kenosha, WI.
The robot warrior is a great idea, but there would be so many intangibles. One is that only the rich nations could afford to make Ed-209's leaving the poor countries with Johnny 5's or probably people. If it's people you'd have a massacre.
ReplyDeleteAlso if rich nations would do Robo battles, whay not do them all the time? Loss of soldiers is a non factor, so if a resolution isn't met me just drop the droids in to get the job done.
Most wars would be decided by how quickly the factories could churn out a new battalion after an older one is laid waste to.
Oh and there's always the factor of them turning against their human creators and taking over the world.
Robo battles, ok with me. Besides I live in Wisconsin and know that Kenosha could use the employment boost. I am really digging your heroes and villans. You are most creative.
