The Senate Majority leader, Harry Reid, and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi are—as it turns out—huge Grateful Dead fans. Harry Reid told a reporter from KLAS-TV "Here, I'll show you the bathroom. This is my prized possession, a signed poster of the Grateful Dead."

One of The Speaker's celebrations includes a band of former Grateful Dead members, including Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Bob Weir, and Bruce Hornsby, along with Warren Haynes, and Mike Gordon. They performed a passel of Dead (and other) classics:

Shakedown Street—"Don't tell me this town aint got no heart... You just gotta poke around"
Truckin'
End of the Innocence
Touch of Gray
The Way It Is (Bruce Hornsby solo)
Come Together
U.S. Blues
Iko Iko
