TBTL Lives! Too beautiful to live? Not yet.

Luke and Jen

Blatherwatch has just reported on Too Beautiful To Live's beating the odds. This is possibly my favorite radio show of all time; a show without T & A, or people ranting about gasoline and taxes, and it miraculously survives. This show is all over the map, from tedious to sublime, and it's the best "talk" radio I've ever heard, except for Jean Shepherd's sublime run of shows for 20 years on WOR in New York City.

"TBTL: it lives!
Everyone wants to know: Is KIRO's show Too Beautiful to Live?

Seems the KIRO suits were high-fiving each other Monday: "We're the highest rated show on the station in the 18-34 demo," says Luke Burbank, the host of the new low-concept show (m-f, 7-10p). "

Jack, the fundraiser might be one last grab to pay down her debt. I'll bet that when the April numbers come in, we'll see that the $10 million she raised right after PA was an illusion being comprised largely of general election dollars, probably no less than 50%. Remember, she claimed $20 million for March but I think only about 1/3 of that was available to her for the primaries. That kind of split had been going on for awhile and it's why she is delaying payments to vendors.

Yes, Bill looked sunburned or flushed, but I also thought I saw him chewing on his tongue in a strange tic like way during her speech. In any event he looked really tense behind her most of the time.

  2. I thought that about Bill too. He knows something we don't know.

But even so, now they're raising the Michigan and Florida delegations again. On the off chance that ever happened, then we're really screwed. Obama's lead would be substantially cut, and there would be no reason to drop out. Howard Dean! Help!

Jack, I don't think FLA and MI are such a big deal. The DNC has to hold the line in some way. Discounting the delegate value seems fair. And it's flat out unreasonble to give her the unadjusted numbers in MI.

The press is reporting that she lent herself another $6.4 million over the last month so now we're getting a clearer pic of her cash position. SHE IS BUSTED and if the campagin costs $1 million per day she's hemorrhaging piastras. Now we know the fundraising might she bragged about Post PA was malarkey. It was a check kiting scheme. I believe that she will be so battered by the press about these money issues and her inability "to knock Obama out" when he was on the bitter Wright ropes that she'll be so on the defensive even as she watches the SD's stream to Obama. The poll numbers will widen and donations will absolutely dry up. We have to know the smart money was just floating Gen Election cash to her to pump up the volume but they're not going to beat the bushes for Primary money now.

Also, if she DON'T get out gracefully, the DEM's will bury Clintons. Words attributed to Jimmy Carter will mark their grave stones: "The Clintons, they'll be there if they need you". We'll see if they have any dignity. I have grave doubts.
