Poem: Limits

Poem: Limits
by Jack Brummet

We like to believe
We could endure anything for five minutes

But that theory, cooked up
In your hermetic study or bedroom,

Comes apart at the seams instantly
When you imagine being on fire

Or having crows feast
Upon your eyes.

  1. I like the poem, Jack, really, but it's weirdly apt in light of the implosion of the family values amerkin party. These guys are making Bill Clinton look like Mr. High Fidelity.

Balling like a baby in Buenos Aires, balling a staffer in Vegas and Reno and hiring the hubby to keep it there(talk about pay to play!), putting on the spritz with adult diapers, threatening secession, signing on for birther legislation, WOW, JUST, WOW.

  2. Gov Sanford may have not approved of the stimulus but I think we can all agree that his political career is shovel ready.

  3. Great comments! Pablo just weighed in--although not much news yet, aside from the tawdry leaked emails.

It is really true what I said once--we should just back off. The GOP is doing a great job of dismantling itself--all on their own.

  4. And have none of these johnson-wielding politicians ever looked over their shoulders, back at history? At Wilbur Mills, Gary Hart, WJC, and up to, say John Edwards? They truly somehow believe they are the exception and won't be caught.

I guess, as Elzabeth Edwards said, "it's complicated"?
