Poem: The Curtain

By Jack Brummet

There are pockets of sanity
still scattered among us,

and light years between those
shining seas of tranquility.

The task we face
is keeping the tiller

aimed away from
the sea of madness,

the silver rain
drawn like a curtain

between us
and God.
