Drawing: Faces 1422 - Illustrated cypress knee

I've had this 2 foot tall cypress knee sitting around for a couple of years. . .since my niece Melanie brought it back for me from Louisiana. The knees grow off the cypress roots and are sort of like a burl, except they are covered in bumps and knobs and contusions (many of which resemble the outlines of faces).
Cypress knees are a cone-shaped exposed growth forming above the roots of a bald cypress tree:
