Poem: The Odds by Jack Brummet

1.
The odds are your luck
Will run out one day.

We know this from cemeteries
And the dearth of hundred year olds

Stomping around
This sweet blue sphere.

2.
Simple probability
And distributed statistics

Tell us ineluctably
That the more times

You stick your head
In the lion's mouth,

The more likely it is
that one day, he will close it.
