It's not easy to think of great love scenes in the movies (for me at least). It's easier to come up with bad ones (try, for instance, any love scene in a George Lucas movie). I'm pretty sure I've seen hundreds, but other than, say, the scenes with Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman in Notorious, they just don't seem to stick. There were some hot scenes in Basic Instinct, and the closet scene in Frida; Body Heat; Mulholland Drive; Brad Pitt and Geena Davis in Thelma and Louise; The Two Towers' scene with Viggo and Liv Tyler; and I vaguely remember many scenes from black and white film from the 30's. There was a good one with With Al Pacino and Ellen Barkin in Sea Of Love.

Maybe the Judge Reinhold /Phobe Cates auto-sex scene in Fast Times At Ridgemont High? Or even that scene on the riverbank in Deliverance with the hillbilly and Ned Beatty?

"In the Mood For Love" It's the absence of the love scene that sticks with you. The film is all about what isn't being said, and what doesn't happen. So much so that the slightest touch becomes the height of eroticism. Tragic unrequited love story...
Some scenes with Frodo and Sam come pretty close!
I'm gonna go with the girl on girl action from "Bound" with Gina Gershon and Jennifer Tilly...That was definitely a two tissue scene.
I would say seeing Halle Berry workin her schtuff in "Monster's Ball" was great, but it was seeing Billy Bob Thornton's balls that wrecked it for me.
Since it is listed as one of your favorite movies -- the scene in Reds, where John Reed and Louise are reunited. So sweet.
You are right Gina - what a touching scene. In fact, didn't they use that scene on some of the posters, etc? I haven't seen Reds in years...I have to watch it now. Thank you! /jack
