Bernie Sanders departs the Democratic Party

by Jack Brummet, National Affairs Ed.

We knew he was just using the Dems as a vehicle. Now he gets to go back to where he was and have the benefits of being a Dem (he's always caucused with them) And still be able to walk away when it suits him. I'm OK with that because, in fact, he's more Democrat than most Democrats.
Note from Politifact:  "By 1997, [Jack note: Bernie did not move from the House to the Senate until 2007] Sanders was still not a member of the House Democratic Caucus nor a Democrat. But he voted with the party more often than the average Democrat (95 percent of the time opposed to 80 percent)"
