Alien Lore No. 253 — UFO Chased By Jets and Men In Black in an Ohio Park

He thought they might be FBI or other federal officials. An FBI spokesperson in Cincinnati said there has been no FBI activity in this area. A dispatcher with the Guernsey County Sheriff's Office had no information and officials at Salt Fork State Park said they had had no contact with the FBI.
The anonymous witness said he had also seen the lights on July 5th. He was with his girlfriend when they observed a similar clustering of lights. Similar UFO sightings were reported in Columbus the next day.
On July 14, 2013 The Jeffersonian published a story detailing a UFO, aircraft buzzing the area tracking the UFO, and Men in Back packing serious heat and issuing threats.
The anonymous witness is a fisherman who lives close to Salt Fork Lake. He fell asleep on his boat and was awakened by lights in the sky. On the horizon above a tree line, he saw four sets of orange light clusters. "They looked like Chinese lanterns. Three took off and one fell back into the tree line. A short time later, jet fighters arrived and circled the area."
Later, he drove in the direction of the spot where he had seen the lights. He got out of his vehicle with a camera. An unmarked car pulled up and two men got out and told him to leave. "They were big guys wearing guns" he said. "I wasn't going to argue with them."

Among the 30+ people who presented eyewitness testimony, documentation and expertise were respected scientists as well as UFOlogists: Dr. Edgar Mitchell (NASA, Capt. USN, Ret.); Nick Pope (Former Ministry of Defense, UK); Dr. Sun Shili (People's Republic of China); Oscar Santa-Maria (Col. Ret., Peru); Dr. Steven Greer; Daniel Sheehan JD; Linda Moulton Howe; Capt. Robert Salas (USAF, Ret.); and the notorious Stanton Friedman (Canada).

Alien Lore No. 248 - The Merge: the disappearance of Lieutenant Felix Moncla

US Air Force Pilot Lieutenant Felix Moncla was stationed in 1953 at Kinross Air Force Base in Michigan when an airborne object showed up on the radar.
Moncla scrambled his F-89 Scorpion interceptor to investigate. Second Lieutenant Robert L. Wilson acted as the Scorpion's radar operator. Wilson was unable to track the object on the Scorpion's radar, so ground radar operators fed the Lieutenant directions as he flew at 500 miles per hour toward the mysterious object.
Moncla eventually closed in on the UFO at about 8000 feet in altitude. As he approached the object, ground radar reported seeing his aircraft merge with the UFO.
Both objects vanished from the radar. People theorize that he had had a collision with an unreported aircraft, but Canadian aviation authorities swear there was no such aircraft in the area at the time of “the merging”.
No confirmed debris or wreckage was ever found below the merging point, and the fate of Lt. Moncla and his radio operator remain unknown.

Alien Lore No. 237 - Purported KGB footage of a UFO crash site in Russia

Thanks to reader Jeff Clinton for passing this along. It's hard to tell if this is staged or not (well, maybe not). The whole operation seems just a little too rag-tag to have been faked. Would a large team like this really begin handling pieces of the crash and UFO without containment suits, and extreme precautions against viruses and radiation? Would there be no containment trucks or heavy equipment? Just look at footage of investigators at any jet crash site, and you'll have the answer. In this film clip, at least, the actions of the group seem completely random and ad hoc. There is no serious attempt to systematically collect evidence and data. And, even if this footage were taken in the early 1950's, you would have seen evidence of photography, filming, and tape recording, aside from whoever shot this clip.
Finally, looking at the UFO, if you presume it failed while extremely close to the ground, the wreckage might look like this. Looking at the trees, it feels like there might have been more trauma to the trees...you can see standing trees nearly touching the spaceship.

Alien Lore No. 217: The night UFOs buzzed the White House

At Washington National Airport, air traffic controller Ed Nugent [Ted's dad?] saw seven blips on his radar screen. No planes were supposed to be there. He brought in his boss and said jokingly, "Here's a fleet of flying saucers for you." In the tower's glass-enclosed top floor, another controller saw a strange blip streaking across his radar screen. It wasn't a bird. It wasn't a plane. What was it? He looked out the window and spotted a bright light hovering in the sky.
From the Washington Post, July 19, 1952: "Air Force spokesmen said yesterday only that an investigation was being made into the sighting of the objects on the radar screen in the CAA Air Route Traffic Control Center at Washington National Airport, and on two other radar screens.
Not long after the events of Roswell, the Mount Rainier UFO sightings, and Socorro, UFOs made a showy presence for the leaders of the free world. In 1952, UFOs buzzed the White House, the Capitol building, and the Pentagon. Yes, these UFOs, presumably piloted by aliens, or Greys, seemed to be thumbing their noses (if they had noses) at the institutions we thought kept us safe.
Washington National Airport and Andrews Air Force Base picked up a number of UFOs on their radar screens on July 19, 1952. These sightings seemed to trigger a wave of sightings that no one has ever been able to explain.

Alien Lore No. 210 - The crash artifacts from Roswell have been tested, and appear to be extraterrestrial

According to the Open Minds website, tests have now confirmed that the crash debris from Roswell in 1947 have been tested and are confirmed to not have originated on this earth.
"A teacher at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell may have discovered the first scientific evidence of manufactured debris made on another planet. Furthermore, this debris was found near the location where pieces from an alleged flying saucer were discovered outside of Roswell in 1947."
Kimbler swept the crash site, focusing on areas where satellite images indicated possible debris. He finally uncovered numerous fragments of metallic slag and other peculiar debris. He had the debris analyzed in a number of tests, including magnesium isotope fractionation tests,

Alien Lore No. 199 - The FBI/Air Force/National Archive Project Bluebook Files and Freedom of Information Act requests

The National Archives has little to offer UFO researchers other than official reports, a few documents, and the studies by the University of Colorado that led to the abandonment of the Bluebook project. Since the FOIA became law, researchers have prodded and poked, and come up with bupkus. The following documents show a researcher trying to get William S. Sessions, director of the FBI, to dig a little deeper. The researchers well-realized--as the letters show--that they surmise that anything of real substance about Roswell, UFOs, or Aliens probably never actually got to Project Bluebook, and instead went to other government agencies that have managed to keep any substantial information out of the public eye.

"On December 17, 1969, the Secretary of the Air Force announced the termination of Project BLUE BOOK, the Air Force program for the investigation of UFOS.
"From 1947 to 1969, a total of 12, 618 sightings were reported to Project BLUE BOOK. Of these 701 remain "Unidentified." The project was headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, whose personnel no longer receive, document or investigate UFO reports.
"The decision to discontinue UFO investigations was based on an evaluation of a report prepared by the University of Colorado entitled, "Scientific Study of Unidentified Flying Objects;" a review of the University of Colorado's report by the National Academy of Sciences; past UFO studies and Air Force experience investigating UFO reports during the 40s, '50s, and '60s.

In addition, a list of private organizations interested in aerial phenomena my be found in Gayle's Encyclopedia of Associations (edition 8, vol-. 1, pp. 432-433). Such timely review of the situation by private groups ensures that sound evidence will not be overlooked by the scientific community.
"A person calling the base to report a UFO is advised to contact a private or professional organization (as mentioned above) or to contact a local law enforcement agency if the caller feels his or public safety is endangered.
"Periodically, it is erroneously stated that the remains of extraterrestrial visitors are or have been stored at Wright-Patterson AFB. There are not now nor ever have been, any extraterrestrial visitors or equipment on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base."
In 1969, The United States Air Force closed down its research into unidentified flying objects (Code named Project Bluebook). The National Archives now handles the Freedom of Information Act requests that come from UFOlogists. The National Archives has a standard line for the many requests they receive for information related to the Roswell UFO crash:
"The National Archives has been unable to locate any documentation among the Project BLUE BOOK records which discuss the 1947 incident in Roswell, New Mexico."
The official line is that the Air Force research did not locate or at least disclose any information that the "Roswell Incident," as they like to call it, was a UFO event nor was there any indication of a "cover-up" by the Government. Information obtained through exhaustive records searches and interviews indicated that the materials recovered near Roswell was consistent with a balloon devise of the type used in a then classified project. No records indicated or even hinted that the recovery of "alien" bodies or extraterrestrial materials.

"On December 17, 1969, the Secretary of the Air Force announced the termination of Project BLUE BOOK, the Air Force program for the investigation of UFOS.

Alien Lore No. 198 - Dark Skies released on DVD!

One of my favorite television shows ever has finally been released on DVD, some sixteen years after it first aired. Yeah, you could find boots, and I did, but they were rough (although far better than not seeing the show again). But here it is at last. It even includes some great "bonus material" (which I usually barely watch), including audio commentaries, interviews, a behind-the-scenes documentary, network promos, and studio sizzle reels.
Right up there with The Sopranos, Hill Street Blues, Deadwood, and a very small handful of other TV shows...is Dark Skies. Dark Skies aired in 1996/7 and detailed the Greylien "history" that has accumulated (like tartar) over the years. Unlike other shows, Dark Skies established an elaborate mythology and framework for the grey lore, built through research of the voluminous outpouring of writing and reporting on alien-related topics.
Bryce Zabel and Brent Friedman developed an amazing five year plan for the show, ranging from the early 60's to the millennium, all grounded in historical events. Each episode details the impact of The Hive on historical events. Harry Truman, The Beatles, Ed Sullivan, Jack Ruby, William Paley, Hubert Humphrey, JFK, Bobby Kennedy (in a recurring role), Timothy Leary, Jim Morrison, Jerry Rubin, Carl Sagan, and others all appear on the program. The "lookalike" actors are outrageously over the top and campy...which adds a note of bent humor to the proceedings. The Greys, it seems, are merely hosts for the real aliens, called the Hive. The Hive is far more dangerous and insidious than the Greys. The Greys, in fact, are a race not particularly warlike until they are taken over by The Hive.
"Dark Skies" was set in the '60s, and, as such, it has aged well. It still looks like the 60's! They actually took a lot of care in 1995 to recreate American streets of the 60's, and the locations, wardrobes and cars are all spot on.
The Hive, in the form of The Greys, has stealthily infested America, and the world. The awful truth is kept from the American people by Captain Frank Bach, the leader of a super-secret government organization called Majestic-12. John Loengard and Kim Sayers are on the run from the alien Hive and from the Government. Their travels lead them all around the country as they learn more about the massive infestation of The Hive, and Majestic's efforts to control it at any cost.
It's never clear in the show whether the cure is worse than the illness. Dark Skies seamlessly put together science fiction, UFOlogy, and past political events and social movements that took place during the 50's and 60's. Unlike the X Files, Dark Skies was a one trick pony--it was about aliens, and UFOs, and nothing else.
Just the titles of their one season tell you much:

[1] Several governments, including ours have admitted they did withhold information, generally when they they were stumped...to avoid panic. France, Russia and other countries have begun in the last two years to release massive amounts of their once secret files on UFOs and aliens.
