Mary Curran's science studies: The Norman Experiments

By Jack Brummet, Cats Ed.

As I was helping tidy up at the Curran Mansion, I discovered this wonderful notebook created by my sister in law, friend, and neighbor, Mary.   She loves cats (who doesn't?!) more than anyone I know, and it runs deep.  She was probably around 12 when she conducted and wrote about the Norman experiments.  This is so sweet. . .

Cat tracks through the centuries

By Jack Brummet, Cat Editor

Emir O. Filipovic at the University of Sarajevo's History Department  was working on a 15th century manuscript when he ran across this medieval cat paw prints.  Yes, unlike dogs, we have let cats walk all around us through the ages.  This cat, sometime in the 1400s, either stepped in an inkpot or on a freshly lettered patch of the manuscript.  All in all, it's probably a good embellishment.
