Poem: A flight of swallows

By Jack Brummet

A flight of swallows
Spins outside the window.

One by one,
The stars turn on

And the yellow sun
Transmogrifies to dusty rose

As it sinks
In its ebbing light.

The moon's in tune,
Stars turn on

And clouds drape
Across the sky.

In the web
Of the Milky Way, we careen

Through space, twirling on earth's axis,
Around the sun, and into the black.

Easter Island statue, or laundry detergent? Or both?

By Jack Brummet, Consumer Ed.

This had to be a design geek having fun, or could it actually be just a coincidence?

Poem: Overlap

By Jack Brummet

We cover the earth
With Venn Diagrams

As our steps
Bisect old steps.

Poem: Water In Motion

By Jack Brummet
Water in perpetual motion
Drifts into the troposphere
Accumulates and returns to earth
To join ice rain and snow
In the hills and mountains
Rolling into aquifers and underground lakes
Chasms fissures streams
Valleys craters hollows
Creeks rivers lakes and oceans

The only thing on earth
That never gets old.

Norman Rockwell's portrait of President Richard M. Nixon

By Pablo Fanque, Nat. Affairs Ed.

There is something kind of bizarre about Norman Rockwell's portrait of President Richard M. Nixon.  It feels like he captured the real essence of. . .someone else.
