Jared Kushner on the hot seat

A new report by Vanity Fair:

"In a call Tuesday to former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon, Trump put blame on Kushner for the part he took in choices to fire former national security adviser Michael Flynn and former FBI director James Comey, Vanity Fair reported.Roger Stone, a longtime Trump ally, also recently said Kushner wasn't giving Trump good advice — a sentiment which Trump reportedly agreed with, according to someone familiar with the conversation.

"Sam Nunberg, a former campaign aide to President Trump who was fired, echoed the statement. “Jared is the worst political adviser in the White House in modern history,” Nunberg said.

 "I’m only saying publicly what everyone says behind the scenes at Fox News, in conservative media, and the Senate and Congress."

On top of all this, he is being investigated for setting up a private email server by multiple congressional committees, as well as sketchy contacts (and maybe more) with The Russians. In addition, Kushner is being actively investigated by the Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

Tony Schwartz has been right a lot about 45; and often wrong too. The resignation scenario seems plausible.

Notes from yesterday on The Administration's myriad troubles

1) It will be a real mind effer if the Attorney General invokes the 5th Amendment today. 

2) Almost more likely, he un-recuses himself, fires Mueller and maybe Rosenstein two hours before the hearing. 

3) Less likely: the Veep, the generals, Tillerson, etc., run a 25th amendment coup d'etat.

4) I know everyone thinks the public accolade part of the first full cabinet meeting had chimes of 3rd world/totalitarian politics. This is overthinking it; the cabinet merely provided, in exchange for their honor, what is known in the dating world as a courtesy fuck.
