Amazing shadow piano
Mickey Hart posted this recently on his Facebook page. I don't know if he took the photo, or is just sharing it. Interesting nonetheless. Of course, the cranky comment people pointed out it is not configured like a piano (whiners/spoilsports).

The world's most dangerous lawyer retires
Houston defense lawyer Jerry Guerinot announced his retirement from death-penalty cases this month. He has a perfect record: all 21 of his clients received the death penalty and ten have been executed so far. He pointed out that "gang members, serial killers, and sociopaths" were entitled to representation, too, and that he has also taken more than 500 other criminal cases cases to trial. [Associated Press 8-13-2016]
More baffling to me than the string of losses are why people kept signing up. . .

A sad day for Ann Coulter and her new book "In Trump We Trust"
by Jack Brummet, National Affairs Ed.
Donald Trump kind of peed on Ann Coulter's book release party yesterday. On the day her book "In Trump We Trust" came out, DJT announced a radical shift in his immigration "policy."
In the book, she writes "There’s nothing Trump can do that won’t be forgiven. . .except change his immigration policies.”

drawing 1526 — the final birdhouse
By Jack Brummet
The last birdhouse; the wood is so porous that is hard to get any detail, and the nooks and crannies are near-impossible to work around. Back to paper, wood, and found objects. Also, below, #1498, a pencil sketch on the bottom of the birdhouse.
