Not The Cosby's - a triple X parody of The Cosby Show

From a few years back, before Bill Cosby was in the news, in the vein of the Brady Bunch porn movie, (See All This Is That's article here), a new spoof--Not The Cosbys XXX--was released, based on Bill Cosby's long-running sit-com.

R.I.P.: The political death of ex-Mayor Rudy Giuliani

By Pablo Fanque, National Affairs Ed.

I am guessing, and fervently hope, that Ex-Mayor Rudy Giuliani's recent attack on The Presidents has finally closed the door on his already massively diminished credibility.

Hizzoner's pronouncements on The President this week leave no doubt that he has succumbed to full on dementia and finally driven away whatever sparse pockets of support that remained.

Pete Curran remembers working for and meeting with Robert F. Kennedy during the '68 Presidential campaign

By Jack Brummet, Presidents Ed.

I have dug up some more documents from the Pete Curran archives about Senator Robert F. Kennedy.

Pete wrote a four page memo on working for RFK and also meeting with JFK and Teddy Kennedy.  It is pretty fascinating.  Pete talked to Bobby on the phone (with Jim Whitaker and a couple of other people) about an hour before he was assassinated in June '68.

Bobby, earlier in that year, sent Pete a signed and inscribed copy of his recent book "To Seek A Newer World."  I am guessing that this book was lost over the years (?) because Pete would have shown it to me, knowing I was a big RFK fan.

In the course of the memo he  describes meeting various Kennedy friends and staff like Jim Whittaker (first American to climb Everest); Pierre Salinger; Pat Lawford and Jean Kennedy (whose name he didn't seem to remember); and David Burke (Teddy's aide).

Finally, he describes meeting with Teddy Kennedy in April 1968:  "He is a far more outgoing and personable individual than either John or Bob were..."

More from the Pete Curran Archives: A letter from Bobby Kennedy, 1968

By Jack Brummet

More document rustling in Charles Peter Curran's archives. I just found his Bobby Kennedy file with a lot of interesting letters, ephemera, pamphlets, etc.  Pete worked for him in Seattle as an advance man during his 1968 Presidential campaign.  More to follow!

Space Needle workers are told to "live on less"

By Jack Brummet

In lieu of a raise, workers at Seattle's Space Needle were given a "webinar" on how to live on less. The webinar was emailed to Space Needle workers last month.  Unite Here 8 is the union for Space Needle workers. The union says the last raise for employees was a 35-cent raise four years ago.  You can see the webinar here.

Mary Curran's science studies: The Norman Experiments

By Jack Brummet, Cats Ed.

As I was helping tidy up at the Curran Mansion, I discovered this wonderful notebook created by my sister in law, friend, and neighbor, Mary.   She loves cats (who doesn't?!) more than anyone I know, and it runs deep.  She was probably around 12 when she conducted and wrote about the Norman experiments.  This is so sweet. . .

Alien Lore #267 - Rare microfilms from Project Bluebook now available

By Jack Brummet, Alien Lore Ed.

The Blue Book files are from United Stated Air Force UFO investigations during 1947-1969.  The research was conducted under the umbrella of  Project Blue Book which was shut down.  Out of around 12,000 sighting reports, more than 700 cases remain unsolved.

You can find the microfilms here, at The Black Vault.

The Kent, Washington Bus Depot

By Jack Brummet, Kent History Ed.

This is a posed photo from my father in law Pete's archives. I am guessing the guy in the middle is some official from Greyhound.

This is a shot of Red's Greyhound Depot/Cafe in Kent. I spent a lot of time here with my Dad in the late 50s-early 60s (Red was one of my Dad's closest friends). Interestingly, KeeKee's Dad Pete also spent time here. I'm sure they met. Even though Kent was then a small farmtown, Keelin and I met much later--after I had left for college. Behind the counter is Gordon "Red" Maganess, and in front of the counter is the ticket agent Bubbins.

For a longer article on the bus depot, go here:  http://jackbrummet.blogspot.com/2013/09/atit-reheated-kent-greyhound-bus-depot.html
