Alien Lore No. 105 - Alien stone/UFO Droppings (?) found near Seattle

A University of Washington (Seattle) aka U-dub research engineer Bill Beaty is about to test a piece of stone that was reportedly dropped from an alien spacecraft 60 years ago.

For many years, Philip Lipson and Charlette LeFevre, who run the Seattle Museum of the Mysteries, have been chasing a story that began in June 1947 when a government employee saw flying saucers only three days after a Tacoma man said UFOs had dropped metal and molten rock on his boat, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported earlier this week.

Lipson and LeFevre believe a B-52 bomber crashed 60 years ago while carrying slag from a UFO. A black chunk of rock is their best clue, and Beaty will test the rock this week.

"You can tell it's been liquid because it's all full of bubbles," said Beaty. "We have to look at the bedrock in the hill and see what's there. If it looks like that, then it's probably the same."
"If this is totally different than the bedrock that's there, then this will be very interesting," he added.

A B-25 bomber exploded and crashed twenty minutes after take off from McChord Field. The Bomber crashed near Kelso, Washington (one of the "tri-cities") after the left engine caught on fire.

A local newspaper article gave details about what happened aboard the plane. "Woodrow D. Matthews, crew chief of the bomber reported helping Davidson and Brown into their parachutes and that at the time he jumped, flames from the blazing left engine were pouring into the cockpit. It was reported that Brown was standing in the aisle ready to leave the plane ³ when Matthews himself jumped out. Brown was found at the crash site with his parachute harness on but had apparently returned to the cockpit. His body was found in the wreckage. Matthews related that the only reason he could see that the officers did not get out was that the left wing might have crumpled, trapping them in the plane. Woodrow D. Matthews, crew chief of the bomber who put the parachute on Sgt. Taff and saved his life was proposed for the Soldier's Medal. An FBI report states the left wing was found 125 yards from the plane impact site and likely fell off throwing the plane into a plummeting spin."

Kenneth Arnold received another call from Ted Morello who told him the B-25 bomber from Hamilton Field had been shot down by a 20mm cannon. The Tacoma Times headlines read

Sabotage Hinted in Crash of Army Bomber at Kelso
—Plane May Hold Flying Disk Secret—

The article by Paul Lance said the plane had been sabotaged or shot down to prevent shipment of flying disk fragments to Hamilton Field, California, for analysis. The disk parts were said by the informant to be those from one of the mysterious platters which plunged to earth on the Maury Island (see Alien Lore No. 104) recently. At McChord field, an intelligence officer confirmed the informants report that the B-25 Bomber had been carrying classified material.

In the Seattle Post Intelligencer August 3, 1947, an AP report states "Pieces not Located." Brig. Gen. Ned Schramm, chief of staff of the 4th Air Force said he knew nothing about reports that the plane was carrying classified or secret material. "As far as I know, the plane was supposed to come in here empty," he said, "and there wasn't a single, solitary, secret thing aboard".

The "Changes" cycle of poems is complete (Index to the Changes Poems)

I first started these poems on March 19, 2006. At first, it was hard not to write the other poems. And then it became an obsession. Thirteen months later—last night, in fact—I finished No. 64, the last one.

This cycle of poems is loosely based on the 64 hexagrams of the I-ching (along with some of their commentaries). I mainly used the Wilhelm-Baynes translations, although I sometimes consulted a couple of others, like Legge's. Some of them were written in one sitting, and others germinated for weeks (usually when I was stuck).

One of my favorite parts of doing All This Is That has been the series: the paintings and bios of all the Presidents of the Unites States; the 50 heroes and villains paintings; and the long-running Alien Lore series (which I have yet to actually index...if you want to see them, this G.I.S. seems to capture most of them. At least fifteen of these are among my favorite poems I've written in the last couple of years. I am done, and now I feel freed up, and can go back to writing about whatever strikes me at the moment. That will be either liberating, or spooky. We'll find out soon.

President's approval rating in the toilet. . .below the waterline

According to Wall Street Journal, the President's approval rating slipped to new lows in the most recent Harris Interactive survey. Of the 1,001 American adults polled online April 20-23, only 28% had a positive view of Mr. Bush's job performance, down from 32% in February and from a high of 88% in the aftermath of the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. His approval is at an all-time low. Maybe it's time for a recall.

Alien Lore No. 104: The Maury Island UFO Mystery

The Maury Island UFO Incident is one of the seminal cases that helped launch the modern era of Flying Saucers, UFO's, crop circles, cattle mutiliations, hive activity, conspiracies, underground bases, pacts with The Greys, Majectic 12, and all the rest.

The Maury Island incident occurred in the summer of 1947 in the Puget Sound area. . .just a couple of miles from where I write this. Maury Island is located near the much larger Vashon Island, in Puget Sound, just off the Seattle coastline. The most incredible part of the Maury Island mystery is that it happened exactly two weeks before the famous Roswell UFO crash. Shorty after Maury Island was when Kenneth Arnold saw an armada of UFOs over Mt. Rainier (about 60 miles southeast of Seattle). The Maury Island incident was capped by the crash of a B-25 Bomber and the deaths of two military intelligence officers. This bomber was allegedly carrying slag, wreckage, and other rubble from the Maury Island incident. Incredibly enough, this was the very first time a United States Air Force plane had ever crashed.

On the afternoon of June 21, 1947, Harold Dahl saw UFOs over Maury Island. He and his son were salvaging logs with a crew in Puget Sound just iff Maury when they saw six doughnut shaped disks hover over the sound. One disk wobbled and seemed to be in trouble. The UFO descended in altitude to 500 feet above the water and was joined by five other saucers. The foundering disk dropped what looked like aluminum metal on the beach, followed by black slag. The slag wounded Dahl's son Charles and killed their dog.

Kenneth Arnold's UFO sighting happened an incredible three days later on June 24. A pilot and Federal Marshall, Kenneth Arnold, saw nine disks skip over the north face of Mt. Rainier. It was upon this was the sighting what newspapers coined the term Flying Saucer. Arnold was interviewed by local and national press (including Edward R. Murrow), and the story made headlines around the world

Kenneth Arnold was lit up on UFOs after his sighting and he responded to a request by Ray Palmer—a Chicago editor—to investigate the Maury Island sighting. Lt. Frank Brown and Capt. Davidson met with Kenneth Arnold and Harold Dahl and collected all the fragments of rock to take back with them to Hamilton Field. Their plane allegedly loaded with alien artifacts, as I mentioned earlier, crashed (See Alien Lore No. 105 for more on the crash--forthcoming).

Poem: Changes 64/Before Completion

The transition from disorder to order
Is not yet complete—
You walk with the caution of a fox

Over rotten ice,
Ears tuned to the cracking of the ice
Or a rumble from below.

As mother nature
Puts the knife to your back,
You glide circumspectly across the safe spots.

Fire over water
Is the image before the transition,
Where everything settes into place.

If you wish to achieve an effect
Investigate the nature of the force
In question and ascertain its proper place.

If you bring these forces to bear on target,
They will have the desired effect
And completion will be achieved.

But to handle external forces properly,
You must arrive at the correct standpoint yourself.
Only from this vantage can you work.

You brakes the wheels.
The time to act has not yet come.
You must have a vehicle

To make the crossing
—Patience in the highest sense—
Means putting on the brakes.

A new situation must be created.
You engage the energies of able helpers
So this fellowship can take the decisive step

And cross the great water
Into the Devil's Country.
The sun shines forth in redoubled beauty

And the new era appears
All the more glorious by contrast
With the misery of the old.

We must be in heaven.
I don't see many people,
But the animals are all here, reporting for duty.

The New Earth: Let the carbonizing begin

It has the same climate as Earth, plus water and gravity. A newly discovered planet is the most compelling evidence (so far) that life might be out there (that is if you don't believe in our Grey visitors). A huge red sun rises in the sky. . .ten times the size of our Sun as seen from Earth. Small waves lap at a sandy shore and there may be things crawling, walking, and wiggling around.

This may be the scene on what is possibly the first truly Earth-like planet to have been found outside our Solar System. The discovery was announced today by a team of European astronomers, using a telescope in La Silla in the Chilean Andes. It is the first exoplanet (a planet orbiting a star other than our own Sun) that is anything like our Earth.

Video And Lyrics: Dave Clark Five Having A Wild Weekend

I remember serious debates, probably in 1964 or 1965, about just who were destined to become the Kings of Rock and Roll. At a certain point in rock history, there was debate over who would triumph: the DC5 or the Beatles? And there was also the Rolling Stones vs Beatles angle too.

The DC5 are probably now held in less esteem than even minor groups like Herman and the Hermits or Gerry and the Pacemakers, not to mention that middle tier of bands like The (always underrated) Kinks, Animals, and others. The Dave Clark Five have not aged well at all. I have a two disk "History of Dave Clark Five" set that includes about eight great tunes, some middling work, and virtually an entire disk's worth of drek.

This tune, Having A Wild Weekend, is the title song from a movie ala A Hard Days' Night. HAWW was released in Britain as Catch Us If You can...

HAVING A WILD WEEKEND
(Dave Clark / Mike Smith)

Saturday night, everybody havin' fun
You don't know it but I'm havin' me some
You left me at home, thought I would die
Down and lonely, thought I would cry

Oh, we're havin' a wild weekend
We're havin' a wild weekend
Reelin' and a-rockin'
Rockin' and a-rollin'

I met me a girl, she thought I was fine
Oh-oh, chick come with me we'll have a good time
She got all dressed up when I took her out
Well she's not that cute but she treats me right

Oh, we're havin' a wild weekend
We're havin' a wild weekend
Reelin' and a-rockin'
Rockin' and a-rollin'

Oww!

------ saxophone solo ------

Reelin' and a-rockin'
Rockin' and a-rollin', wooo!
Reelin' and a-rockin'
Rockin' and a-rollin', rockin' and rollin'
Reelin' and a-rockin'
Rockin' and a-rollin', ohh!

Reelin' and a-rockin'
Rockin' and a-rollin', wooo!
Reelin' and a-rockin'
Rockin' and a-rollin'
I said, Reelin' and a-rockin'
Rockin' and a-rollin'
